Littmann Classic III Stethoscope vs ADC Adscope 608 Stethoscope

Today I am going to compare two good stethoscopes, the Littmann Classic III vs the ADC Adscope 608. We will find out how much, how long, their included spare kits and a lot more. I will lay all their differences and similarities side by side for you to have an informed decision by the end of the blog.

1. Price

I bought the Littmann Classic III for 100 USD while I bought the ADC Adscope 608 for 95 USD. They are very close when it comes to the price. Let’s find out more about them.

2. Weight

 The Littmann Classic III weighs 158g or 5.5 oz, while the ADC Adscope 608 weighs 174g or 6.1oz. The Adscope 608 weighs almost as much as the Littmann Classic Cardiology IV and for me personally, that is way too heavy for a stethoscope. 

3. Acoustics

In my detailed review, I rated the Littmann Classic III’s acoustics of 4 out of 5 stars, it has really nice acoustics, loud and clear, while I gave the ADC Adscope 608 a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars because it has good acoustics for its price, not the best but also not the worst.

4. Length

The Littmann Classic III is 71cm or 27in long while the ADC Adscpope 608 is 77cm or 30in long. Personally, I think the 3-inch difference between them is a bit much. But if you like long stethoscopes then this would not be a problem for you.

5. Tubing Feel

In my individual detailed review, the Littmann Classic III got a 3.5 out of 5 stars while the ADC Adscope 608 got a 2 out of 5 stars. One reason that the Adscope 608 only got 2 stars is that the tubing is sticky. You can check my reviews to find out the other reasons behind those scores. I will include the links below.

6. Spare Kit

The Littmann Classic III’s spare kit includes Small Ear Tips, Non-Chill Rim and a User Manual, while the Adscope 608 includes Small and Large Ear Tips, Name Tag, Open Bell and a User Manual. I’m happy with the both of them when it comes to spare kit.

7. Warranty

The Littmann Classic III has 5 years warranty as indicated in the box and the Adscope 608 has a lifetime warranty. I’m always all for lifetime warranties! 8.Overall

The Littmann Classic III got 39 out of 50 stars in my detailed review while the Adscope 680 got 36.5 out of 50 stars. In my reviews, I give the stethoscopes 5 stars as the highest score for each category. I review the acoustics, tubing feel, the buying experience and lot more.
