Nurse Jenny here from Nurse Jenny Reviews where I give you my honest opinions, so you can make an informed choice.

Today we will be discussing the MDF 777 Md One Cheetah Print. Now I know it’s exciting to see printed stethoscopes to spice up our plain ol’ boring scrubs, but let’s find out if the parts and uses of the stethoscope are as pretty as its outside.

1. Acoustics 

The acoustics of this stethoscope is quite good. It is acceptably loud and crisp.

However, when I used it, I found it a touch too long.

The tubing was a little bit too long so that when I used it, it was rubbing against things around it such as the bed linen, the patient's bed, the patient, or my arms. It adds unnecessary noise from the outside. Being it a single-lumen tube does not help with the rubbing sounds. Something that might help with the stethoscope acoustics is finding out if you are putting on the stethoscope correctly.

 For that, it can't get the highest score, but it gets a good score of 4/5 Stars.

 

 

2. Ear Tip Comfort

The MDF 777 comes with three different size ear tips, which is great if you have small or very large ear canals. You have three sizes to choose from, which I love.

The shape of the ear tips is like a bullet, so I found that they don't fit as snug as the Littmann ones, which are round. The round ones sort of drown out the noise a lot better, but this is a personal preference so this one will depend on you if you prefer the round or the bullet-shaped ones. The MDF 777 One’s ear tips are soft and comfortable though, so there’s that. 

 I've given it a good score of 4/5 Stars.

  

3. Weight

The weight of this stethoscope is 190 grams, which is 6.7 ounces and too heavy for my liking.

I found that when I had it around my neck all day, I could tell it was there and I could really feel it at the end of my shift.

 The chest piece is a little bit too heavy for the binaurals as well, so all the time it would slide down on one side and I would have to correct it all the time.

 For the weight, I've given it a 2/5 Stars.

 

4. Price

Price. I bought this stethoscope from the MDF website for 99.00 USD.
Considering everything, It is a really good value for money.

I've given it 4/5 Stars.

5. Tubing Length

The length of this stethoscope is 78 cm and 31 inches.

As mentioned before, it is too long for me in my personal preference. If you like long stethoscopes, if you have long arms or if you are a very tall person, this stethoscope might suit you because it is one of the longest stethoscopes out there.

 I've given it a 2.5/5 Stars.

 

6. Tubing Feel

The tubing feel of the MDF 777 MD One is nice and flexible.

However, the tubing is a little bit sticky, and it sticks to the hairs at the back of my neck and I've also noticed some bubbles on the tube, perhaps due to the printing of the stethoscope.

If you are used to bringing your stethoscope around in a case, you can use these cute Bjorn Stethoscope Cases and pair them with your new MDF MD One Cheetah Print.

I've given it a 2/5 Stars.

 

7. Stethoscope Design

The chest piece of this stethoscope is quite nice. I like the design of it.

The bell side does not convert to a pediatric size though, so you don't get an extra diaphragm in the spare kit. The chest piece is turnable which is really good, that is something I always look for in a stethoscope.

 The color of the binaurals is black which complements the cheetah print nicely.

I like the overall look and feel of the stethoscope and I would've given it a five out of five if it wasn't for the fact that the tubing does have some pieces of the prints missing and also the bubbles that I mentioned before. It’s not manufactured pristine perfect and for that reason, I’ve given it a 3.5/5 Stars.

 

8. Spare Kit

The spare kit included in this stethoscope is pretty good. You get two sets of ear tips, one extra large and one small. The medium size comes attached to the stethoscope itself, so that’s a total of three ear tips of different sizes. You also get an extra diaphragm and a name tag that you can clip onto your stethoscope. 

 I've given it a 3.5/5 Stars.

 

9. Warranty

The warranty that comes with this stethoscope is beyond.

You get free parts for life program against manufacturer defects and you also get free parts for life if you ever lose ear tips, diaphragms, name tag, etc.. Just go to the MDF website and you can get free ones for life.

 I've given it a 5/5 Stars.

 

10. Buying Experience

For the buying experience of this stethoscope, I received it in a box that looks quite nice.

I like it a lot, it is clean, nice and wide, and it displays the stethoscope upfront in the middle.

It’s just a little bit unfortunate that it also came displayed in cardboard inside, but that's all right.

It doesn't have an impact on the functionality of course but I do like to include the whole buying experience when I review so that you get a whole feel for the product.

 I've given it a 3.5/5 Stars.

I really enjoy the print of this stethoscope.

It is personalized, it is unique and it is hard for anyone to steal it.

Unfortunately, the bubble on the tubing and some of the print missing has brought it down a little bit for me.

I really like the design of the chest piece. It's nice and sleek and it is turnable which is great.

The ear tips are super nice and comfortable and soft.

Unfortunately, for my personal liking, this stethoscope is a little bit too long.

It is 78 cm, 31 inches, and if you are the person who likes a long stethoscope, this is the one for you. It is one of the longest ones out there.

The chest piece compared to the binaurals is heavy, so it keeps on sliding down and I have to fix it up all day long which is quite annoying. If you're like me and wear it around your neck all day, the tubing can get quite sticky and painful if it snags the hair on the back of your neck. but again if you are a person who wears it in your pocket and not around your neck, this is not going to be a problem for you.

The MDF 777 MD One is a perfect all-around stethoscope, from the student nurse to the veteran, anyone can use it.

It's also great for anyone who's looking for a fun, personalized stethoscope that can potentially put a smile on someone else's face.
