Nurses Week 2019 Just Around The Corner!

I've been doing a lot of thinking in preparation for Nurses Week which starts this coming Monday on the 6th of May.

It's a week where we celebrate and elevate the Nursing Profession!

But what is it that makes us so great?

Well in my opinion it's a number of things.

The way we don't loose face when most would probably throw up, the way we comfort other people when they're at the lowest of their low, how we always ask "are you warm enough?" and if not, we bring a warm blanket!

I'll even make you a cup of tea if you're nice...

I mean the list can go on and on really and to be honest, we should not just have a week, we should have the whole year as Nurse Year!

Ok getting a little ahead of myself, but in what other profession do you get daily peronal gratification in form of grateful patients thinking you are the bomb just for helping out!

I think it's addictive and part of why so many Nurses stay in the profession even though it can get very tough.

Yes, we are awesome.

But let's not forget that being a Nurse and being a part of other people's lives in so many different ways, is an absolute privilege, and one we should not take for granted.

Watch as I kick off and get ready for the Nurses Week ahead
