Today, I am going to be reviewing two beautiful stethoscopes from ADC Adscope, the Adscope 603 Series vs the Adscope 608 Series. I will lay their characteristics side by side and let’s find out which one comes out on top as the best ADC Stethoscope.

Price

I bought the ADC Adscope 603 for 77 USD while I bought the ADC Adscope 608 for 95 USD. What’s the difference between the Adscope 603 ad Adscope 608 besides the price? And is it worth buying one over the other? Let’s read further.

Weight

The ADC Adscope 603 weighs 163g or 5.7oz. It is lighter compared to ADC Adscope 608 which weighs 174g or 6.1oz. Personally, ADC Adscope 603’s weight is a bit acceptable for me. It’s not as light as I would like for a stethoscope but not heavy enough to be annoying to bring around. The ADC Adscope 608, on the other hand, is a bit too heavy for me. I like to put my stethoscope around my neck and when using the ADC Adscope 608, it feels heavy on my neck by the end of the shift.

Acoustics

In my detailed review, the ADC Adscope 603 got 3 out of 5 stars while the ADC Adscope 608 got 3.5 out of 5 stars. Actually, the main difference between the Adscope 603 and 608 is the open bell. The ADC Adscope 603’s open bell does not convert to a pediatric diaphragm while the ADC Adscope 608’s open bell is a screw-on and off and can be converted to a pediatric diaphragm. I think the 603’s acoustic scored lower because some of the sounds get out from the open bell. It’s not as clear and loud as I would’ve liked.

Length

When it comes to length, both of the stethoscopes are 77cm or 30in long. Personally, the stethoscopes are too long for me and the implication of a long-tubed stethoscope is that when you use it, the tubing brushes on the beddings or on my arms, and they create extra noise.

Before I continue, you might wonder

“JUST HOW MANY STETHOSCOPES DO YOU HAVE AT HOME NURSE JENNY??”

Well, I have bought a lot of stethoscopes for all my Stethoscope Reviews but they are not at home collecting dust. I do run monthly giveaways, so if you're interested and would like to join, check out my website for the free monthly giveaways.

Let's continue!

Tubing Feel

For the tubing feel it’s again a tie for both of the stethoscopes. The Adscope 603 and 608 both got 2 out of 5 Stars. The reason for having a bit low score is that their tubings are sticky and they stick to the small hairs of my neck and my skin. They are a bit uncomfortable. If you don’t usually put your stethoscope on your neck then this might not be an issue for you.

Spare Kit

The ADC Adscope 603’s spare kit includes Large and Small Eart Tips, Name Tag, and User Manual while the ADC Adscope 608’s includes Large and Small Eart Tips, Name Tag, User Manual, and since the pediatric diaphragm is convertible, it also includes an Open Bell.

Warranty

Both the ADC Adscope 603 and 608 Series offers a lifetime warranty for all its parts, which is amazing. You do have to register your stethoscope on their website and of course, it has some exclusions.

Overall Score

In my detailed review, the ADC Adscope 603 got 35 out of 50 stars, while the ADC Adscope 608 got 36.5 out of 50 stars.  If you want to learn more about their detailed features, I have a review for both of them. I reviewed them under 10 aspects and gave them a score out of so by the end of the review they can have a total score of 50 out of 50.
