  1. Price

I bought the MDF Classic Cardiology Stethoscope for 125 USD while I bought the Littmann Cardiology IV Stethoscope for 180 USD. That’s a big difference between the two, so let’s find out more which of the two has more value for money.

  1. Weight

The MDF Classic Cardiology weighs 270g or 9.5oz while the Littmann Cardiology IV weighs 171g or 6oz. Personally, the additional 99g weight of the MDF Classic Cardiology is way too much for me as this is the heaviest stethoscope I had ever reviewed.

  1. Acoustics

Both stethoscopes got a perfect score of 5 out of 5. They are both cardiology and dual-lumen stethoscopes so their acoustics are loud and clear and just impeccable.

  1. Length

The MDF Classic Cardiology Stethoscope is 75cm or 29in long while the Littmann Cardiology IV Stethoscope is 69cm or 27in long. Personally I wanted the Littmann Cardiology to be a bit longer so the length of the MDF Classic Cardiology for me was just perfect.

Before I continue, you might wonder

“JUST HOW MANY STETHOSCOPES DO YOU HAVE AT HOME NURSE JENNY??”

Well, I have bought a lot of stethoscopes for all my Stethoscope Reviews but they are not at home collecting dust. I do run monthly giveaways, so if you're interested and would like to join, check out my website for the free monthly giveaways.

Let's continue!

  1. Tubing Feel

I gave the MDF Classic Cardiology Stethoscope a 2.5 out of 5 stars while I gave the Littmann Cardiology IV a 3.5 out of 5 Stars. Both of the tubings’ textures are the same. The only difference between the two is that the MDF Classic Cardiology is more rigid.

  1. Spare Kit

The MDF Classic Cardiology’s spare kit includes the Small Ear Tips, Large Ear Tips, Spare Diaphragm, Nametag, and User Manual while the Littmann Cardiology Stethoscope’s spare kit includes Small Soft Ear tips, Hard Ear tips, Non-Chill Rim, and User Manual. They both have good inclusions and I am happy with them.

  1. Warranty

The MDF Classic Cardiology’s manufacturer warranty is free for life and if you lose parts of your stethoscope you could have free parts for life as well. On the other hand, the Littmann Cardiology IV’s manufacturer’s warranty is 7 years. I love the MDF’s warranty, enough said.

  1. Overall Score

In my detailed review of the stethoscopes, MDF Classic Cardiology received a 38 out of 50 Stars while the Littmann Cardiology IV received 40/50 Stars.
